“With Sriram’s hiring, the Super Giants’ outstanding backroom team, headed by Langer and worldwide guru Gautam Gambhir, is complete. The South African coaching pair of Morne Morkel and Jonty Rhodes continues to serve as the team’s bowling coach and fielding coach, respectively. Vijay Dahiya and Pravin Tambe remain in their responsibilities as assistant coach and spin bowling coach, respectively.

Sriram, who represented India in eight ODIs between 2000 and 2004, served as Australia’s assistant coach for six years until resigning in 2022. In 2016, he originally joined the Australian coaching staff as Darren Lehmann’s spin coach.

The leg-spinner Adam Zampa, the left-arm spinner Ashton Agar, the seasoned off-spinner Nathan Lyon, and the developing part-time spin of Glenn Maxwell are all known to have been greatly influenced by Sriram, who played domestic cricket for Tamil Nadu as well as for Maharashtra, Goa, Assam, and Himachal Pradesh during his playing career.

Additionally, from the Asia Cup through the T20 World Cup in Australia last year, he served as the technical consultant for the Bangladesh T20I team. Prior to this year’s IPL, Sriram worked as an assistant coach with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), specializing in batting and spin bowling, and held the renowned title of an ECB Level-3 “Head Coach” in 2008.
