<p>With nine wickets in three games, Kuldeep has been Rohit Sharma’s preferred bowler thus far in the competition.</p>
<p>He got four wickets against Sri Lanka earlier this week, but he was rested for India’s last Super Four game against Bangladesh.</p>
<p>The illustrious opener highlighted why Kuldeep, who is India’s top wicket-taker in ODIs this year, is difficult for batsmen to handle.</p>
<p>“Kuldeep has shown his ability to change things. You can obtain wickets with wrist spin, whether it comes from your right or left arm. The finest dot balls in limited overs cricket are wickets. He is also challenging to play since he is bowling a bit flatter, not offering as much air, and getting the ball to spin, according to Gavaskar on India Today.</p>
<p>With a five-wicket haul in the Super Four match on Tuesday, Sri Lanka’s young spinner Dunith Wellalage made a significant effort against the Indian batsman in the sides’ last encounter.</p>
<p>Gavaskar added his perspective while advising Indian hitters on how to deal with the danger posed by Wellalage.</p>
<p>“I believe they would endeavor to reach the ball’s pitch as soon as feasible. Tossing the ball up is not a simple task. However, push him with quick footwork each time he lets the ball get a little amount of air. Don’t try to loft him unless the pitch is level and there is little spin. Make him pause, he continued.</p>
<p>Speaking of the game, Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka chose to bat first after winning the toss, and both sides were compelled to alter their starting lineups.</p>
<p>With the players who were rested for the Bangladesh match making their way back into the team, India added Washington Sundar to replace Axar Patel. Maheesh Theekshana, who was injured, was replaced by Dushan Hemantha for Sri Lanka.</p>
